About Rust Leaderboard

Player one, here is how the scoreboard works: every five minutes we read the public Rust server list and post the real player counts.

The server browser in game is a rough way to pick a server. Rust Leaderboard takes the public Rust server list from Steam, with the name, player count, queue and tags each server publishes, and asks many servers directly for map seed, FPS and entity count. Some servers do not answer those direct queries, so for those you see only what Steam publishes. From those sources the site keeps live counts, wipes, settings and history for every public server, so you can find a server that just wiped, a busy one in your region, or the right group limit, without joining dead servers first.

Scores are player counts, and nothing else. The table is ordered by live players, never by payment, and no rank is sold. A quiet server sits low, and a server with no players is shown as dead. Wipes and wipe schedules come from what each server publishes, so a countdown can change when an admin changes plans. You can browse the full leaderboard, check player counts or read the force wipe countdown.

Rust Leaderboard is independent and built by Rust players. It is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios, and nothing here is endorsed by them. Server names, descriptions and images belong to the people who run those servers.

If something about your server looks wrong, the fix is usually in the server's own settings, and the change shows here within about five minutes. If it still looks wrong, write to hello@rustleaderboard.world. Advertising on the site is covered on the advertising page, and you can reach us through the contact page.

Questions

Who runs Rust Leaderboard?

Rust Leaderboard is an independent site built by Rust players. It is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios and is not endorsed by them. Server names, descriptions and images belong to the people who run those servers.

How often do the player counts update?

The site reads the public Rust server list about every five minutes and updates the tables from it. Player counts, wipes and ranks change as servers change. Some servers answer direct queries for map seed, FPS and entity count and some do not, so those fields appear only where a server replies.

How can I fix wrong information about my server?

The fix is usually in your server's own settings, and the change appears here within about five minutes of the next refresh. If it still looks wrong after that, write to hello@rustleaderboard.world.
