Terms of use
Playing here means accepting these terms. The short version: the scores are real but they are a snapshot.
Where the scores come from
Player one, your leaderboard is built from machine-read data. Every five minutes we ask Steam's public Rust server list and the servers themselves what is happening, then write down the answers. We do not type counts by hand. A server may be slow to publish a wipe, a live count can lag by a refresh, and a name or tag is whatever the owner set. Read a rank as a moment in time, not a promise.
What you can do here
Browsing and comparing is free and needs no login. Have a look at the full leaderboard, the live player count or the wipe countdown as often as you like. What we ask is that you do not send rapid automated requests at the pages; it makes the board slow for everyone else. For bulk data, write to hello@rustleaderboard.world and we will work out a way.
Bots and crawlers
Automated visitors are welcome, including search engines and AI tools. Read robots.txt and llms.txt before you start, and keep the request rate low enough that human players still get quick pages.
If you run a server
A server appears on Rust Leaderboard because it is listed publicly. Everything shown on its page comes from the server itself, so the way to correct a name, tag, slot count or wipe time is to correct it at the source. Most updates reach the board within five minutes.
Independence
Rust Leaderboard is a separate site. Facepunch Studios has no involvement in it, and Rust is their trademark.
Updates to these terms
The terms may be rewritten at any point and without advance warning. The date below is the one that counts. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

Questions
Can I use Rust Leaderboard without an account?
Yes. Browsing ranks, player counts and wipe times is free and needs no sign-up or payment. The only limits are on automated traffic that would slow the site for other players.
Why does a server's player count sometimes differ from the game?
Counts are read every five minutes, so what you see is the last reading, not a live feed from inside the server. A count can also lag if a server is slow to report. Refresh the page to pull the newest figures.
How do I get my server's details changed on Rust Leaderboard?
Change them on the server. The name, tags, slots and wipe times all come straight from what your server publishes. Once the change is live, the board usually picks it up at the next refresh, within five minutes.
